A lesson in Patience. Leslie's Accessories

This stunning set is Leslie's. It has been a project in progress for a long time.... a long long time!

Leslie approached me about this design months and months ago, but I didn't have the componentry to make it for her. Luckily, she allowed plenty of time, so that I could order in the componentry I needed to complete the piece for her. This isn't a quick an easy thing to do. I order new components about 4 times each year. Mostly they come from the USA, where they are manufactured. It takes about 6 weeks for the components to reach me from the time I order them (they are sent Priority International too, so postage time is usually 3-4 days!!)

Then it takes design and manufacturing time on my end, then off to the platers for the metal finish, then time for me to set all the Swarovski Rhinestones and pearls, and finally, postage time to Leslie. She hasn't got it yet, I just sent it today.

The Hair Accessory is quite large, about the size of my Palm, the feature is the 'holes' where the hair beneath will show through. Its base is all filigrees, but then its all encrusted with rhinestones and a small scattering of Pearl. It's  a really special piece. Her wedding is in July, so we wont have to wait too long for some photos!
